Drop-Volley Short When Both Opponents Are Deep
The Situation
Both opponents are pinned at the back and keep retrieving your deep volleys.
What To Do
Take the pace off and drop the volley just over the net with soft hands and an open face, but only when both opponents are deep, never when one is already moving forward.
Why It Works
Against two deep opponents the open court is the space right behind the net, not the back. A drop volley forces a long sprint to a dying ball, even if they reach it they are lunging upward and you finish the next one. The shot lives or dies on disguise and soft hands: the same preparation as a punch volley, then absorb the pace at the last moment. Misread the moment and it becomes a free sitter, so the read matters as much as the touch.
Court Positioning
Both opponents deep at the back glass. Net player absorbs pace and the ball drops just over the tape. Long arrows show the distance opponents must cover; the forced reply travels upward.

Mirror Your Partner's Lateral Movement
